The15th International Workshop
on Laser Ranging was held in Canberra, Australia, October 15-20,
2006. The theme of the Workshop was “Extending the Range”.
The workshop was sponsored by Electro
Optic Systems Pty Limited (EOS), Geoscience
Australia,
the ACT Government,
and the International
Laser Ranging Service (ILRS). Various ILRS-related
meetings were held in conjunction with the workshop, including the 12th
ILRS General Assembly. Over 110 attendees particpated in the workshop. The
ILRS would like to acknowledge the efforts of the local organizers,
particularly Peter Wilson, Jennifer Mullaney, John Luck, and EOS
Space Systems for their efforts in producing the excellent proceedings documentation, CD, and original workshop Web site (the
banner photograph is courtesy of EOS). Some memorable comments from the workshop are available.
