In This Section: A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill for the nights of October 6-10, 2002, at a rate of $150/single or $175/double plus 14.5% tax, which is the current prevailing government lodging per diem rate in the Washington D.C. area. Please be advised that if the D.C. area government lodging per diem rate is changed prior to the meeting, the room rate will reflect this change. The hotel is located at 400 New Jersey Avenue, NW and is within walking distance of the Smithsonian Institution and the Washington Metro Rail System (Union Station is the closest at approximately 4 blocks), the citys subway system. Attendees should make their own reservations at the hotel, no later than Monday, September 9, 2002. For reservations please call 1-800-233-1234 or 202-737-1234 and please refer to the 13th International Laser Ranging Workshop when making your reservation in order to obtain the conference rate (a savings of $100 or more!). After September 9, 2002, rooms will be available on a space and rate available basis. The hotel will honor the government rate for our group three (3) days prior to the room block dates and 3 days after, based on availability. A deposit of the first nights room and tax for each of the confirmed rooms will be due from individuals fourteen (14) days after the room(s) is confirmed by the Hotel but no later than the cut-off date of September 9, 2002. All deposits for individual room reservations are fully refundable if a room is canceled seven (7) days or more prior to the arrival date. Personal checks, money orders or a valid American Express, Diners Club, Visa, or MasterCard number and expiration date will be needed for the deposit.
